Baked Parmesan Chicken

This is a recipe that was my Momma’s and it’s super easy to put together but the flavor in unbelievable. I should make this more often. I guess in going thru all my recipes to share I am making some I had forgotten that are really good! The hubby is happy!!!

Preheat oven to 350. Season chicken with garlic salt and pepper on both sides. You can use 4 breast or thighs, Skinless and boneless.

In large skillet melt 3 tbsp Butter and brown chicken on either side.

In a baking dish coated with cooking spray add 1/4 cup grated parmesan. Place browned chicken in dish.

In the same skillet whisk in 2 tbsp flour and cook for 1 minute. Add 1 cup Milk and stir until thickened. Stir in 1 cup of Cheese of your choice. Mom used Swiss, but I used Colby Jack. Stir until melted and well blended.

Add to the top of the chicken, along with 1/4 cup parmesan and Italian bread crumbs.

Bake for 45 minutes until well browned. This is great served with rice and bread for the yummy cheese sauce:) Enjoy!

Baked Parmesan Chicken

4 Chicken Breast or Chicken Thighs/Boneless-skinless

Garlic salt and pepper to season chicken

3 tbsp Butter

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp Flour

1 cup Milk

1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice. I used Colby-Jack

1/4 cup Italian Bread Crumbs

Prep baking dish with cooking spray and add layer of 1/4 cup parmesan. Arrange chicken in dish.

In same skillet add flour and cook for 1 minute. Add milk and cook, stirring until smooth and thick. Add cheese and stir until smooth and well combined. Pour over chicken and add remain 1/4 c Parmesan and bread crumbs.

Bake for 45 minutes until well browned.
