Pan fried Pork with Browned Butter, Honey, Lemon Orzo
This is a recipe I got from my Momma years ago. I think it was one of her “Newspaper Surprise” recipes:) She was always sending newspaper clippings from the San Diego paper. Love and Miss you Momma! This is a super easy and comes together quickly. It is a different twist on fried pork chops.
Cook 8oz of Orzo in salted water until tender 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil or any high heat oil. While this is heating cut loin chops in 1 inch thick slices. Add 1/4 cup flour, garlic salt and pepper in a plastic bag. Add pork and shake to coat all pieces.
Add pork to heated oil and fry until browned on either side. Place on a plate with paper towels and place in the microwave to keep warm. Add 2 tbsp of butter to hot pan and cook stirring until brown. Don’t walk away at this point or you will burn the butter! Remove from heat then add 2 tbsp honey and juice of a lemon or 1 tbsp lemon juice. Add the orzo back to the pan and stir to coat with the yummy sauce.
Serve in a bowl with a bed of orzo and the fried pork on top with fresh parsley.
Enjoy!
