Prepare Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, dissolve active dry yeast in warm water and let it froth for 5 minutes. Combine yeast mixture with flour mixture, adding olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead Dough
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm environment until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Grease a deep dish pizza pan with olive oil.
Shape Dough
- Roll out the dough into a large circle. Fit the dough into the prepared pan, pressing it gently up the sides.
Layer Ingredients
- Layer shredded mozzarella cheese, cooked sausage, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, marinara sauce, and top with Parmesan, oregano, and garlic powder.
Bake
- Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Cool & Serve
- Remove from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
