Method
 

Prepare Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, dissolve active dry yeast in warm water and let it froth for 5 minutes. Combine yeast mixture with flour mixture, adding olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead Dough
  1. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Rise
  1. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm environment until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Grease a deep dish pizza pan with olive oil.
Shape Dough
  1. Roll out the dough into a large circle. Fit the dough into the prepared pan, pressing it gently up the sides.
Layer Ingredients
  1. Layer shredded mozzarella cheese, cooked sausage, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, marinara sauce, and top with Parmesan, oregano, and garlic powder.
Bake
  1. Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
