  • ½ cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Wine dry sherry as an alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce use tamari for gluten-free
For Frying
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil canola or peanut oil
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions chopped

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, salt, brown sugar, water, rice wine, baking soda, and soy sauce. Whisk until melded. Add chicken to marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Crack an egg into a bowl and whisk well to create an egg wash.
  3. Drain excess liquid from chicken, dip each piece into the egg wash, then toss in cornstarch.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high until it reaches 350°F. Test with a small batter piece.
  5. Add chicken pieces in batches to hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Toss fried chicken in a bowl with additional salt and pepper, sprinkle with green onions before serving.
