Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine diced cherry tomatoes, chopped fresh basil, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Gently mix and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Slice the French baguette into ¾-inch thick pieces and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  4. Optionally, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on each toasted baguette slice and return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes until melted.
  5. Generously spoon the prepared tomato mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
