Ingredients

For the Marshmallows
  • 1 cup Large Marshmallows Make sure they’re fresh for the best fluffiness.
  • 1 pack Candy Eyes Larger sizes offer a cuter effect.
For the Chocolate Coating
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Candy melts are also an excellent alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Shortening Coconut oil can be a delightful substitute.
For the Finishing Touches
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar Reduces stickiness.
  • 1 piece Black Edible Marker Food-safe gel can also be used.

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by placing 1 cup of white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each burst until fully melted and smooth—this should take approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Take one large marshmallow and dip the bottom into the melted chocolate, using it as glue. Attach this marshmallow to a sheet of parchment paper, then stack two more marshmallows atop it.
  3. Once the marshmallow stack is firm, drizzle any remaining melted chocolate over the entire marshmallow structure and then place candy eyes on top.
  4. Dust your marshmallows with powdered sugar and use the black edible marker to add facial features. Let the marshmallows sit until the chocolate hardens completely.

Notes

Ensure white chocolate is fully melted and smooth to avoid lumps. Work quickly when placing candy eyes and avoid making these marshmallows on a humid day.
