Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 packet of instant yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Slowly add ¾ cup of warm water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan, combine 1 can of crushed tomatoes, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning over medium heat.
  5. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat.
  6. Preheat the oven to 475°F, placing your pizza stone inside to heat.
  7. After resting, roll the dough out into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
  8. Transfer dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel and spread sauce, then top with cheese and desired toppings.
  9. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let it cool briefly, add basil, slice, and serve hot.
