  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
  5. Bake uncovered for about 25 minutes, until the soup bubbles.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining French fried onions evenly on top.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
