Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine hot cooked short grain rice with unsalted butter. Stir until the butter melts and coats the rice.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil until shimmering hot, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Crack the egg into the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the whites are set. Flip if preferred for over-easy.
  4. Lift the cooked egg and place it on top of the buttered rice in the mixing bowl.
  5. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top of the egg and rice, then drizzle with sesame oil and soy sauce.
