- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 12-cavity donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pancake mix, ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon of nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 1 large egg, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of finely diced apples.
- In a small bowl, mix together ¼ cup of softened butter, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, ½ cup of all-purpose flour, and the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Spoon the donut batter into each cavity of the prepared donut pan and tap gently on the counter. Sprinkle the crumb topping over each filled cavity.
- Place the donut pan in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes.
