Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Peel and cube the Yukon Gold potatoes into 1-inch pieces, rinse, and place in a large pot with water and salt.
  2. Boil the potatoes for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, add minces garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot, then mash until smooth.
  5. Mix in sautéed garlic, butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  6. Adjust consistency with more cream or milk, if necessary.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chives and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
