Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Chop the cinnamon rolls into bite-sized pieces and arrange them evenly in the greased baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces and gently press each piece down to soak in the custard.
- Sprinkle optional raisins and chopped nuts over the mixture and gently fold them in.
- Let the mixture sit for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature to soak.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
