  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract or almond extract for a different profile
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon can be omitted for milder flavor
  • ½ teaspoon Salt balances sweetness

  • 1 cup Raisins can substitute with dried cranberries or omit

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Chop the cinnamon rolls into bite-sized pieces and arrange them evenly in the greased baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces and gently press each piece down to soak in the custard.
  5. Sprinkle optional raisins and chopped nuts over the mixture and gently fold them in.
  6. Let the mixture sit for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature to soak.
  7. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
  9. Drizzle with icing before serving for extra sweetness.
