- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather all your ingredients and equipment.
- In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of water and 1 cup of milk, bringing it to a rolling boil.
- Gradually whisk in 1 cup of polenta and stir continuously for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of butter and half of the grated cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 diced bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes.
- Add 4 sliced sausages to the skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes until browned.
- In a greased baking dish, spread half of the polenta mixture, layer on the sausage and vegetables, and finish with the remaining polenta and cheese.
- Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
