Instructions
- In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-low heat. Add 2 sliced large yellow onions, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of Creole seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Cook for about 20 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the onions become soft and golden brown.
- Combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tablespoon of Creole seasoning in a mixing bowl. Gently mix and shape into thin, uniform patties.
- Preheat the skillet to medium-high heat. Sear the beef patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned, checking for an internal temperature of 160°F.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet for about 30 seconds to melt the cheese.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, relish, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne until smooth.
- Layer a slice of caramelized onion on a plate, followed by a beef patty with melted cheese, and spoon the burger sauce on top. Add another slice of caramelized onion.
- Serve with extra sauce on the side and pair with sweet potato fries or a garden salad.

Notes
For best results, keep patties thin for even cooking and maximize juiciness. Reassemble burgers right before serving for peak flavor.
