Method

Instructions
  1. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-low heat. Add 2 sliced large yellow onions, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of Creole seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Cook for about 20 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the onions become soft and golden brown.
  2. Combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tablespoon of Creole seasoning in a mixing bowl. Gently mix and shape into thin, uniform patties.
  3. Preheat the skillet to medium-high heat. Sear the beef patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned, checking for an internal temperature of 160°F.
  4. Place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet for about 30 seconds to melt the cheese.
  5. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, relish, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne until smooth.
  6. Layer a slice of caramelized onion on a plate, followed by a beef patty with melted cheese, and spoon the burger sauce on top. Add another slice of caramelized onion.
  7. Serve with extra sauce on the side and pair with sweet potato fries or a garden salad.
