Cookie Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients with the butter-sugar blend, alternating with milk.
- Drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden; the centers should still be soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the icing, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over cooled cookies.
